Zbyszek Bury - Beskid Sculptures
The Wadowice City Museum invites you to an exhibition of works by Zbyszek Bury, which will be open from February 21 to March 29 in the museum's hall at 4 Kościelna Street.
Zbyszek Bury, who also creates under the pseudonym Alex Johanson, draws inspiration from Beskid traditions and childhood memories. A special role in this exhibition is played by the figures of the wagoners from Roczyn: Memories and images from my childhood provided the impetus for this exhibition,” says the artist. Zbigniew Bury, born in Wadowice, is a versatile artist active in the fields of painting, ceramics and sculpture. He began his artistic education at the Private School of Visual Arts in Bielsko-Biała.
A key moment in his creative path was a meeting with Karol Pustelnik, a member of the “Krakow Group,” with whom he remained in close contact until his death. In 1996, together with Piotr Jargusz, he founded the “Studio TU” art group, and just a year later he presented his works at the “Kunst Findet Kunst” fair in Munich, dedicated to the issue of freedom in post-communist countries. His international successes include the “Red Line Art - European Art.- Project 2002,” which won recognition and was realized in Isny (Germany). He has received numerous awards for his artistic and social activities.
