‘Even the Saint kicked the ball’ - a new publication for the World Youth Day!
For World Youth Day left only 50 days! Preparations in Wadowice are in full swing. Department of Tourist Services of the Municipal Office in Wadowice, which leads the Tourist Information office is preparing to take thousands of pilgrims from around the world. Wadowice is a particular point in the plan of their journey as the birthplace of the initiator of these special meetings. To make easier the pilgrims knowing the places associated with Karol Wojtyła and the history of the town prepared several publications, the first of which is ‘Even the Saint kicked the ball.’ The brochure tells about the early years of Pope John Paul II in Wadowice, as seen through the eyes of his colleagues and teacher from the Gymnasium, colleagues from the theater circle, neighbors and catechist of the parish church. Karol Wojtyła spent the first 18 years of his life in Wadowice, and as always happy to have come back not only in memories. As he said: I was always strongly attached to the town of my childhood and early youth, to the town that gave me much, very much. It seems to me, more than Kraków could give. Breath of the town and the breath of the earth, certain straightforwardness in the way of thinking and an unquestionable cultural foundation. We hope that the pilgrims who visit our town, return to it with the same feeling just as John Paul II returned..
