John Paul II Garden

The Garden of John Paul II is located among the hills of the Little Beskids. It is here, on 3 hectares, that an image of the figure of John Paul II stretches.

The foundation of the Garden was guided by the idea of helping those in need. Part of the profit from the sale of tickets is transferred to the Children of the Association of Parents and Guardians of Disabled Children "Give a Chance" in Wadowice. Thanks to this type of activity, each visitor can contribute to help disabled people and their families, and thus continue the work initiated by the Polish Pope.

In the Garden, trees, shrubs and flowers play a central role. They paint a vivid picture of the figure of the Polish Pope, the Basilica of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Wadowice and the Basilica of St. Peter in the Vatican. The character in the center of the painting was made on the basis of a photograph by Arturo Mari, a personal photographer of John Paul II. You can see him thoughtful, but above all cheerful Pope. You can also see a man who was able to unite people with his smile.

The whole is complemented with an exhibition of photographs depicting individual elements from the life of John Paul II. The pictures show the path to the holiness of our Great Countryman, and also constitute a testimony of an extraordinary Pontificate.

In the Garden, fragments of Janusz Poniewierski's book "Flowers of John Paul II" were also placed. It is an interesting attempt to show the holiness of the Polish Pope by means of funny and sometimes moving events in his life. The hero of this book is a man of flesh and blood, pious and endowed with an extraordinary sense of humor. Someone who, being a Pope, remained himself.

In addition to the permanent elements in the Garden, there will be exhibitions about the life of John Paul II. You can already see an exhibition of the outdoor sculpture of the Krakow sculptor Prof. C. Dźwigaj titled VIA SANCTA. It consists of nine sculptures depicting John Paul II at the time of important events. This is a cycle showing Karol Wojtyła's path to holiness - from the Wawel Cathedral to the Basilica of St. Peter in the Vatican.
The exhibition was moved from the Wadowice Market.

The garden was created for all who want to know life and the path to the holiness of the Polish Pope. This place plays an important role in the development of education and culture, the source of knowledge and inspiration - the "living museum" of John Paul II.
