Traffic disruptions in Kalwaria Zebrzydowska from August 15th to 17th, 2025.

The District Police Headquarters in Wadowice informs that from August 15th to 17th, 2025, the Bernardine Monastery and the Marian Passion Sanctuary in Kalwaria Zebrzydowska will host religious ceremonies related to the celebration of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, with up to 120,000 believers from Poland and abroad expected to attend.

Therefore, we would like to inform you that on the following dates:
- August 15th (Friday) from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM,
- August 16th (Saturday) from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM,
- August 17th (Sunday) - the main celebration of the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary) from 4:30 AM to 3:00 PM, there will be significant traffic disruptions in the town and commune of Kalwaria Zebrzydowska.

This applies in particular to through traffic on National Road No. 52 and Voivodeship Road No. 953 within the city limits of Kalwaria Zebrzydowska.

On Friday, August 15th, and Sunday, August 17th, traffic on the Kalwaria Zebrzydowska–Palcza and Kalwaria Zebrzydowska–Stryszów district roads will be temporarily suspended due to the celebrations in Brody at the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, also known as the "Tomb of Our Lady," near the Bernardine Monastery and the Passion-Marian Sanctuary in Kalwaria Zebrzydowska.

Traffic patrols will be posted at intersections, in traffic jams, and near parking lots. Local traffic disruptions will also occur within the city of Kalwaria Zebrzydowska on municipal streets and roads.

Those driving not attending the aforementioned celebrations are advised to use alternative routes around Kalwaria Zebrzydowska, including the K-7, K-28, and K-44 roads, if possible.

The police also ask everyone to strictly follow the instructions of the officers involved in securing the ceremony and directing traffic.

They also urge the faithful to park their vehicles in the spaces designated by the police and law enforcement. There will certainly be no free parking spaces near the Bernardine Monastery and the Marian Passion Sanctuary, and vehicle movement in this area may prove impossible.

The organizers ask everyone to follow the instructions of the police, Railway Security Guard, Volunteer Fire Department, monastery security, and those supervising order in designated parking lots in Brody and Kalwaria Zebrzydowska.
