Traffic disruptions in Kalwaria Zebrzydowska

The District Police Headquarters in Wadowice informs that from April 13 to 20, 2025, religious ceremonies will be held at the Bernardine Monastery and the Passion-Marian Sanctuary in Kalwaria Zebrzydowska, related to the celebration of the "Holy Week Indulgence", in which up to 120,000 believers from Poland and abroad may participate.

On April 17, 2025 (Maundy Thursday) from 11:00 to 21:00 and on April 18, 2025 (Good Friday) from 4:30 to 16:00 there will be major traffic disruptions in the city and commune of Kalwaria Zebrzydowska.

In particular, this applies to transit traffic on national road no. 52 and provincial road no. 953 within the city limits of Kalwaria Zebrzydowska.

Vehicular traffic on county roads on April 17 on the Kalwaria Zebrzydowska - Palcza and Kalwaria Zebrzydowska - Stryszów routes and on April 18 on the Kalwaria Zebrzydowska - Stryszów route will be temporarily completely suspended in connection with the celebrations in the town of Brody at the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary called "Grobek" and in the area of ​​the Bernardine Monastery in Kalwaria Zebrzydowska.

Traffic patrols will be posted at intersections and in places of difficulties and in parking areas.

There will also be local difficulties in road traffic in the city of Kalwaria Zebrzydowska, on the streets and municipal roads.

People traveling by vehicles who are not going to the above-mentioned ceremonies are kindly requested to use alternative roads bypassing Kalwaria Zebrzydowska on these days, if possible, and to use, among others, roads K-7, K-28, K-44.

The city services ask for strict compliance with the orders of the police officers taking part in securing the ceremony and directing road traffic.

At the same time, they appeal to the faithful to park their vehicles in places indicated by the police and the security services. There will certainly be no free parking spaces near the Bernardine Monastery itself, and moving vehicles in this area may prove impossible.

The services also ask for compliance with the orders of the police officers, the Railway Protection Guard, the OSP scouts, the monastery security service and the persons supervising order in the designated parking lots in the town of Brody and in the city of Kalwaria Zebrzydowska.
