96th birthday anniversary of John Paul II

On the 18th of May is a special day for Wadowice. In this day 96 years ago was born Karol Wojtyla - the future Pope John Paul II.

Program of the events in that day:

9.45 a.m. - welcome of participants schools named John Paul II, laying flowers at the monument near the Basilica of our Lady of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

10 a.m. - Holy mass, after the holy mass the birthday concert 'Let's sing for John Paul II.

12.00 - Angelus, release of balloons.

Demonstration of firefighting equipment - State Fire Service of Wadowice.

Birthday cake for the participants of the meeting sponsored by the mayor of Wadowice.

12.15 p.m. - free guided tour groups in the footsteps of Karol Wojtyla.

Tasting of regional food.

5.15 p.m. - Special session of the Town Council in the House of Retreat and Pilgrimage Carmelite Fathers. The speech of the dr hab Szczepan Praśkiewicz. Screening of the film 'The Pope from Wadowice'.

6 p.m. - Holy mass - Sanctuary of St Joseph

6.45 p.m. - concert 'Firefighters in honor of John Paul II
